Abstract Wall Art: Pro Tips
ElephantStock's interior design expert Elimar Lobo Sáenz explains the importance of abstract artwork in a modern home:
“Nothing elevates the look of a room quite like abstract art. Abstract wall art is a symbol for freedom, and it complements a wide range of home styles. This creative style of art work will add a trendy touch without overpowering your interior. It’s up to you to choose between a print with bold colors, or modern, muted neutrals. Make sure your piece is big enough to act as your main focal point, and don’t be afraid to play with crazy, conceptual design ideas.”

Minimalist Wall Art Shapes
Choose a canvas shape that will make your space stand out. We’ve broken down every layout into categories to help you pick the best shape for your unique taste:
Combine classic and contemporary: The Single-Panel Rectangle or Single-Panel Square
Minimalist art for narrow spaces: The Single-Panel Vertical Canvas or the Single-Panel Panoramic Canvas
Modern modern modern: The Triptych Tri-Panel Canvas or the Symmetrical Five-Panel Canvas
Be a trendsetter in more ways than one: The Split Two-Piece Canvas or the Four-Panel “Wave” Canvas
Nobody does eclectic like you: The 7-Piece Hexagonal Canvas Set
Technical Tips
If you’re leaning towards one of our multi-panel options, follow these tips to hang it like a pro:
* Width: No matter which multi-panel layout you choose we recommend leaving 1" space between each panel. This will create an airy look that is still cohesive and tied-together. If the gap is too small or too large, you can lose the visual effect of a multi-panel canvas.
* Height: The height of your canvas panels depends on which layout you selected. Some layouts are meant to be hung symmetrically, and some layouts resemble a wave or another abstract shape. In general, be consistent! For example, if you hang the left-side panel 3" lower than the middle panel, be sure to hang the right panel using the same proportions. Use your ruler and pencil to measure the right height; don’t eyeball it!
PS: Try one of our multi-panel prints from our modern Brushstroke Collection!

Large Minimalist Wall Art Sizes
Consider making a statement with oversized minimalist wall art. These dimensions were pulled from our Ultimate Wall Art Size Guide to give you some solid size ideas:
“If you’re inspired to create a gallery wall above your sofa or headboard, the best size is 52 inches by 32 inches. Hang asymmetrical canvases, and arrange them symmetrically create the perfect, dynamic look on your wall.
If your main goal is to create a focal point, go with these dimensions: 66"X33" This is the ideal option for starting an oversized gallery wall. Add a statement piece to any room that has a large, empty wall. Just make sure to measure the space before installing your canvas, as this size can look overwhelming in a room with smaller walls.
Looking for something really dramatic for a large empty wall? Go with 68"X45"! Select a giant, oversized canvas that measures 68 inches by 45 inches in height and width. If you want to cover the entire wall above your couch or bed, this is the right selection for your space. It makes your space look dramatic and appealing while creating a luxurious vibe.”

Blue Wall Art: Pro Tips
Totally stumped on how to build your color palette? ElephantStock's interior design expert Elimar Lobo Sáenz shares her tips for a foolproof blue color scheme:
“Interior designers voted bright blue as one of the top interior design trends for 2022. Using richer blues or incorporating lighter blue textiles will give to your space a serene “Santorini” vibe. If you’re a minimalist at heart, pops of dark, true blues can bring a vivid touch to your room. Incorporate this unbeatable hue into your decor as a constant reminder of clear skies above.”
