Combining Gouache and watercolor mediums, Danhui Nai comes up with pastel-inspired modern artwork.
Born in mainland China, Danhui Nai has been raised in an artistic household created by her parents. Her natural passion for art is inspired by her roots and classical training.
She now lives and runs her California studio where she creates splendid and on-trend artwork in a wide variety of media. Nai studied interior design in Paris as well as in New York City. She has also worked in the textile industry in Manhattan while continuing her studies and artistic growth.
The talented artist now paints using a wide range of media including gouache, watercolors, oils, acrylics, and tempera. She also employs a layering technique to use colors for her artwork. Her antique roses and other beautiful flowers are among her favorite subjects.
What inspires you most as an artist?
"I hike almost every day. Trees, deer, birds, berries, squirrels that I see, or meet on the trail inspire me. Pretty flowers in the garden always give me the urge to paint."
When did you begin creating?
"I started to create art when I was about 7 years old."
Do you have a favorite creation?
"A portrait of my dog Jamie is my favorite creation."
What is your life motto?
"Be grateful for what I have."

"Maybe a writer."
