Room for Improvement
Your kitchen sets the tone for your entire interior. In fact, it’s one of the first spaces that designers focus on when renovating a home. With open floor plans continuously increasing in popularity, the kitchen is often an area with high visibility. We should treat our kitchen like the crowning jewel of our home. Over the last year, many of us used our kitchen as a respite from the chaos. From baking bread to at-home wine tastings, the kitchen is a sensorial experience. Make your space match the purpose of this inspiring room. Wall art is a great way to give your kitchen the extra love it deserves. At ElephantStock, we offer an extensive catalog of wall art curated specifically for your cooking space. Discover art that inspires you, and brings you joy.
Style & Spice
When defining your kitchen’s overall aesthetic, there are a variety of styles to choose from. You can steal style inspo from the existing finishes in your kitchen, or you can totally reinvent your space. Determine whether you want to go with a sleek, minimal look, or you’re keen to play with color and texture.
Modern Kitchen Wall Art & Décor
You can’t go wrong with a contemporary kitchen. Keep your space looking clean and simple with pops of modern details. Let the quality of your finishes speak for themselves, and avoid clutter at all costs. Go with a print that adds a subtle splash of style without overpowering your space.
Vintage Kitchen Wall Art & Décor
A classic kitchen is all about creating a welcoming space. Embrace rustic details and shabby-chic elements. Use country-inspired décor like mason jars and lots of wood. Select a piece of wall art that has a uniquely vintage vibe. The name of the game is “cozy.”
Cooking with Color
There are plenty of options when it comes to choosing colors for your kitchen. If you want to maintain a modern look, go with neutrals like white, grey, and taupe. For a traditional take, use pretty pastel tones.
Yellow Kitchen Wall Art
Yellow is a color that has been used in kitchens for centuries. This uplifting shade provides the perfect amount of positivity and enthusiasm to start your day right. There’s nothing better than a light and bright kitchen.
Kitchen Colors: Pro Tips
Speaking of yellow, this sunny shade happens to be one of Pantone’s iconic Colors of the Year. Our resident design expert, Yoko Chow, of Yoko Chow LLC, shares the enthusiasm over this classic-meets-contemporary shade:
“The combination of Illuminating yellow and (Pantone’s second pick) Ultimate Gray may give you a very contemporary impression, but it can look traditional as well. You can certainly design concrete flooring with modern yellow (details,) and you can also pair an existing light gray interior with a piece of wall art which includes the Illuminating yellow shade."
If you’re trying to keep things modern, she cautions against the overuse of yellow, and highlights the importance of balancing it with grey.
"While yellow is known to enhance one’s creativity and attention, having a vast area enveloped in yellow may cause an inability to focus since it is such an attention-grabbing color. Balance is the key!
Tirzah Goodman, ElephantStock’s art director, suggests incorporating this mellow yellow look with a print inspired by the ultra-hot summer greenery trend.
Kitchen Wall Art Sizes
Choosing the right size of wall art for your kitchen can be tricky. Kitchens come in a wide variety of layouts, which means there’s no right answer when it comes to canvas size. Make sure to measure and mark on your wall the estimated size of your desired canvas so you can better visualize the print in your space. If you’re lucky enough to have an entire blank wall in your kitchen, follow this handy excerpt from our Wall Art Size Guide:
“Your wall art should take about 60% to 75% of the available empty wall space, the portion not covered by moldings or furniture. Measure the height and width of the wall. Now, multiply the measurements by both 0.6 and 0.75. As a result, you will get the range of canvas print sizes to suit the space.
For instance, if your blank wall is 9 feet tall and 5 feet wide, multiply 9 by 0.6 to get the low end of the ideal height range. Then multiply 9 by 0.75 to get the high end of the ideal height range. Do the same for your wall's 5 feet width. The ideal height of the canvas would be 5.4 feet - 6.75 feet and the ideal width would be 3 feet - 3.75 feet.”
Kitchen Wall Art Shapes
If your kitchen is unconventional, select a unique canvas shape to match! Rather than a classic single-panel piece of square canvas, go with a long, vertical rectangle or a panoramic print. If you really want to make a statement, an eclectic hexagonal print is the way to go. View our complete collection of canvas shapes under our kitchen wall art landing page.

Kitchen Wall Art: Final Pro Tip
ElephantStock's expert designer Elimar Lobo Sáenz shares a final piece of décor advice:
“Whether you want to create a playful vibe or a timeless look with an emphasis on practicality, there are a lot of options to give you that final stylish touch. A few designer favorites include glass tiles, mosaic, stone, and ceramic. Contemporary kitchens often exude personality and [adding decorative details] is a great way to do that."
